Yamaha XTZ 660 Tenere

another question :
anybody experiences with long-distance travelling (Panamericana) on a Yamaha XTZ 660 Tenere ? Compared to a Kawa KLR650 more On-Road-Oriented ? Reliable ? Parts availability ?

I've recently completed a ride around Australia on an XTZ660. Reliablility was excellent, comfort very good, performance adequate. On the tarmac, the XTZ was a bit slow, the heat really knocks them around and fuel consumption plumets. Get a good pipe and jet it properly, and it certainly helps the on road perfromance. Off road, a bit heavy but a reasonable compromise. Not sure if I would go for one again, for the same money I think a Dominator makes a better choice (my mate was on a dommie less comfortable on road but better off road).
