Yamaha TDM 900
 

Hi I am from Australia and new to site. I have bit the bullet and purchased a well kept 2002 Yamaha TDM 900 with full service history. I plan to do some long distance touring here in Australia. I have done two 500klms day trips with no luggage and without the Givi Panniers that came with the bike. I was very pleased with it. Wondering if anyone has toured on this bike and would like to hear the good and bad about the it and any other opinions about the bike. Cheers

Never owned or toured on one but ridden them a few times.

They give great economy and are a fine, quality, reliable touring bike. Nice power and comfort. Perfect highway touring bike.

They are a road bike though. You won't want to be going off-road on it.

I bought a second-hand one years ago. It had 5000km on it at the time. I put another 80000 on top of that before I exchanged it for a 660 Tenere. Never had any major issues with it. I just did the airbox vacuum flap mod. And once had a bolt of the Givi top plate holder break.

Yes a great bike. I just rode across Aus on mine including a lot of dirt. Ride report is on advrider. I found its suspension to be the biggest limitation. Ride within its limits and you will be fine
