Used Honda CBX 250 for West Africa Overland?

Hello all,
I hope you are doing well. I currently live in Morocco and am planning an overland trip of West Africa. I am looking for a reliable bike on Avito Maroc to purchase for said adventure and stumbled across a used Honda CBX 250 Twister with around 65,000 km on it. It is within my pricepoint as a teacher(cheap haha). Would this be a good bike for the trip? I am a bit concerned with the mileage on it, but I know that it is a Honda, and if taken care of will last forever. Do any of you fine people have any experience with this bike?

All the best!

P.S. I have my Moroccan residency so there shouldn't be too many problems with the logistics of actually purchasing the bike.

Hi takuwinds and welcome,
I have no personal experience of this particular bike but have owned enough Hondas to know that they are all pretty well built.
It would not be my first choice as I would prefer something more trail orientated although I would argue a better one than some of the large adventure bikes many like to use.
As to the mileage it is getting a little high but it all depends on how well it has been maintained and what work has been done to it during it's life so without seeing it a judgement is difficult, if it is choice between this one and not going it is a good choice.
Given that I doubt you will be going anywhere for a while I would keep an eye out for something a little lower mileage but as for size I would say anything above 125cc will do it unless you are particularly large or plan to take a passenger.

Thanks for the response Mark! With regards to preferring something with a little more off road capability, there is a honda tornado 250 for sale, but the price point is about 900 USD higher. In your opinion is getting the extra offroad capabilities worth this price mark up? Are there any bikes that you reccomend I keep an eye out for? Thanks again, I appreciate your input.

In my opinion the Honda Tornado is about as good a bike as you will find for the job, whether it is worth the extra $900 depends on it being in better condition and lower mileage than the other one and on your budget but it sounds well worth considering.
If something similar in 200-400cc range come up it would be worth considering, after that it is down to mileage, condition and price.
