Touratech 1200 Rambler, a modern HP2?

The BMW HP2 was a stripped down 1200GS (175kg dry weight, 195kg wet) with a tiny 13-litre fuel tank, 21/18 wheels, conventional front suspension and not much in the way of weather protection.

The Touratech Rambler concept bike is a modern take on this with a stated wet weight of 199kg, 188kg dry. Touratech claims a weight reduction of almost 50kg from the 1200GS.

Conventional front forks from the 1200R rather than the Telelever setup. Haan Excel 21-in front wheel and 17-in rear, not clear whether these are tubeless or tubed.

Lightweight Akropovic exhaust saved 10kg. Only one front disc (rotor) and brake assembly to save probably 5kg weight.

Aluminium fuel tank forms the rear subframe and has a capacity of a reasonable 18 litres, however according to Touratech this arrangement isn't strong enough to mount luggage which (in my eyes) severely limits the practicality of the concept.

Weather protection minimal. Concept only at this stage, so no pricing.

nice, looks like every company now wants to have rally version :thumbup1:

I this case though I'd have big problem trusting single swing arm off-road motorcycle.
