Sinnis 125 Terrain - any thoughts?

My son, now 13, can with the Norwegian legislature, start practicing on a 125 when he turns 15, and get his licence for a 125 when he is 16. That means that in two years, he can join me on a long ride, on his own bike. I'll have to tail him, we both have to wear neon learners vests and be connected by comms.

The Sinnis 125 Terrain - I've seen some good youtube reviews. It seems like an interesting bike. However, having read a couple of comments from Sinnisowners on other forums - their service is really bad, taking more than half a year to get parts for bikes still in production.

There are no one selling them in my part of the world, and none have probably ever been registered in Norway as of yet. In fact, I am unsure if anyone sells them outside the UK. I am also unsure how I could get one here, or if I could get it registered without too much trouble and expence.

That there are no dealers arround won't bother me as long as parts can be sourced by internet order - after all, it is only a bike - that with a decent manual, any mechanic or owner can repair and maintain. If parts take months to source, then it can still be put to work closer to home - but I wouldn't venture to the other side of the world on it.

I would read the thread on Zontes which are another Chinese made bike then go and buy him a Honda XR125L.

I'm gonna be the odd one out here...

As they seem to be UK-only, I've never seen one - but I've seen a few reviews of them on Youtube or in print. They've been sold for about 4 years now, and do seem to get decent reviews.

You get what you pay for. 2500 Lbs... I dunno. If I was in the UK, I could see sitting on one and taking it for a test ride. You could spend the same for a used Japanese 125 and get a peach - or a lemon.

Even if you buy a Jap lemon It will probably be easy to and worth fixing.

Chinese crap is broken when it's new and seldom worth the effort to try and keep working.

Opposite my work theres a young lad who has a Sinnis Terrain, 2 years ago it was a lovely looking bike and was quite a talking point on this industrial estate, the bike looked the part, certainly didn't look like a 125.
Now its awful - rusting, flaking paint and looking shabby. I'm told that its well maintained and serviced, lives in a garage. At work it is outside but always parked under a cycle / smoking shelter.
