Seat on the yamaha tenere 700

I currently own an Africa Twin (2016 model) and was recently planning to sell it and buy a Yamaha 700. As I intended being on it for the next year or so while completing a trip, I though I would consult a chap here in Australia who makes motorcycle custom seats using the same seat carcass on a bike originally, if possible. I wanted to know what he thought of the chances of making a more comfortable seat on the Tenere would be for someone needing more comfort essentiually.
I weigh 105 kilos and many original seats on various bikes in the past provide too much discomfort after a relatively short time in the saddle and I trust this chap's opinion as he has been doing great work for many years. He said the Tenere 700 is one of the most difficult seats to provide a reasonable level of comfort for most riders, for whom he has been asked to do work. The seat is narrower than others for example, which does not provide him very much space to put the padding in the areas most riders ask for padding to be placed. For lighter riders than I, the seat may not be a problem but I thought I would pass on this information to other riders.

Apparently, the bike is a brilliant bike to ride for many reasons but if the seat is not to your liking, decisions have to be made.

I did 4,000 miles round Europe this year on a World Raid, which has a narrower seat than the standard Tenere. It wasn't too bad, and TBH I found the level of long distance discomfort no worse than virtually every other bike I've ridden. You can't take that style of bike and put an armchair on it.

If you want a seat designed for more comfort on the standard bike Touratech do one (doesn't fit the WR though).
