Rieju Aventura 500 Legend

And also something special presented at EICMA:

Finally an adventure bike with a decent tank range at a whopping 39 liters of fuel which should easily give a range of 1000 kms. Otherwise the engine seems to be a clone of the Honda CB500 engine made by chinese Loncin.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes, some of their bikes are very overpriced and we had some problems getting support (to the point where I was contemplating just riding to the factory and asking them direct what the holdup was!) however they do make stuff that's different to everyone else so if it fills a niche it might be worth putting up with the shortcomings!

Seems like a perfect overland bike. Only thing i'd worry about is spare parts availability.

If it is a Honda cb500x engine, the engine spareparts should be no problem

Probably the first bike ever who will be prone to break down before you have emptied the first tank of gas……:clap::innocent:

it looks amazing >>> why hasnt Honda done it ?
I think it would be an amazing advernture bike !
I spent 6 weeks in morocco on a cbx 500 and found it the perfect bike .

Rieju does a few "niche" bikes, I guess there's not enough market for Honda to bother (I'm sure they do loads of research).

I've gotta say that after we got our Tango's problem sorted it's been great, and nobody makes anything like it

Just thought I'd update that I've now seen this in person and given it a good look over / sit-on (no test ride :( )

Seating position feels like the CB500X, saddle is nice and squishy. The engine looks well finished, no unfinished casting / machining edges that I could see. The fit and finish appears to be as expected, namely nicer than a good Chinese brand but short of Japanese standards, and it has the feel of something put together from available parts rather than everything slotting together like a Swiss watch.

The stock hand guards are seriously beefy and look like they can support a hard fall, and with the engine bars, suspension, and stock tyre choice it's definitely made for more serious off-roading. Weirdly the engine is a stressed member but then it has extra bars added that run where a cradle frame would anyway, but they're only attached with small bolts which is a little comical to me ... maybe the bolts are sacrificial and having them easily removable makes maintenance easier too?

The front tank is well chonky, like a BMW 1200, and the dash has a button for switching between front and rear tanks, so I guess if one wanted to they could use just one tank or the other for most riding. The back rack feels solid, but is made out of plastic so might not age well or put with with adventure abuse.

Funnily enough, the front mudguard wasn't perfectly in-line with the front wheel, which is something that all Tangos suffer from too.

At ~€7.5K new it's a bit too rich for me, and I'd probably find it unwieldy to live with as a daily, but can't deny it appears like a capable bike and if I had the opportunity to disappear into the desert on one I wouldn't think twice :)

What the write up doesn't state is that the tyres are TUBELESS (thank goodness) with 90/90-21 and 150/70-18 dimensions. Ability to display Waze/Google Maps through 7-in digital display. Available with green and red flashes.
