Possible new bike bargains t be had courtesy of Euro 5 emissions regs?

Well the euro 5 regs come into play in the EU (and the UK) from 1 January 2021 meaning it will be hard to sell new bikes legally that are not aligned. So there may be a few bargains to be had potentially including Suzuki V-Strom 650 and
V-Strom 250.

The article is seven months old and since it was published BMW introduced its Euro 5 compliant models in July. Yamaha's T700 is also now Euro 5.

The 790 parallel twin engine in the KTM 790 is not Euro 5 and is being replaced by the KTM 890 for 2021. Consequently you can currently buy the outgoing 2020 KTM 790 Adventure for £9,799 instead of £11,299, see https://www.thektmcentre.co.uk/bikes...-790-adventure

No doubt there's other bargains to be had. I can't see a delay being allowed, the bike manufacturers have had years to plan for this. They may have to preregister any remaining bikes in December 2020.

You'll be lucky , I work in a multi franchise dealership and there are virtually no bikes left , in the case of some models there are none in the UK full stop . I believe our remaining Suzuki's will be pre reg d but there is literally nothing left . Other dealers have been buying from us and the phone is constantly ringing with customers after bikes . You may get lucky with a Northern dealer but there are no bargains down south as we can get full list on what we have for sale .
You ll have to ring round I'm afraid

I work in a Kawasaki/Suzuki dealer.

We have loads of bikes.... I'm not sure if that's a good thing lol.

Suzuki is dead. Their bikes are irrelevant and out of date. No one wants one.

How you doing Ted ?
Well we have few if any.....handful of kawasakis , rightly more Suzuki's but not that many at all . Was a customer before I worked where I do now , never seen it so empty , the sales guys could sell even more, if they could get hold of them . I agree Suzuki had lost it's way........the winners seem to be Ktm , very aggressive deals going with them .
Having chatted to one of the big four reps before lockdown , there was in his words a north / south divide .......we had outperformed them by some margin.
