Pan-Am bike?
 

hello, I am interested in travelling from Alaska to the the south of Argentina. I am very handy with bikes, but my preferred motorcycle is a Ducati supersport (currently riding a 02 '750SSie) and THAT bike is not what I will use.

I have been thinking about the BMW F650GS Dakar (2-3 yrs.old), but I have no experience with these bikes quality. I would be very thankful for ANY advice, I am planning to go solo and the less problems the better.

I am completely open to most suggestions, based on advice I will check out bikes early next year. I dunno about my time frame, but I would like to go out of Alaska in the warm season.

I live in AK currently in midwest US, to get my KLR I just purchased and transport it to AK. I went with the KLR for several reasons, mostly inexpensive. I am leaving AK in Aug. to head to Ushuaia at a leisurely pace. As far as our warm season I'd say June through late AUg. depending on your idea of "warm"
