A class of one... I would tend to agree with Rebaseonu - if you want 400cc, large (aftermarket) tank, electric start, low seat (Lowering links available), then the DRZ400 really looks like the front runner?
Some people (ok most people) find the seat uncomfortable, but you can boost that with a sheepskin on any bike as Warthog suggests, or Corbin etc make replacement comfy seats... there are plenty of larger tank options, and you can lower stock bike with new linkage rods, or even go for the supermoto version which is already lower and has nicer suspension (you might want to consider fitting a 19" front rim if you want to run any sort of knobbly tyres mind you). Personally I would side with Wartog regarding the XR400 mind you, but if you want e-start and a low seat, the Doctor is probably your best bet? xxx |
Yes the Djebel 250 is a fantastic bike.
I rode a used one from Osaka to Barcelona through Russia and central asia in 2002. 9months and only 2flat tyres. Nothing else went wrong. Get one if you can. If not get a CT Definately. We are on a RTW on one now. 2-up. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...rage-small.jpg Its the biz, lucky my girl doesn't weigh much though. Check out our touring blog. Aki and Nat |

These bike amazed me in how tough they are and how easy to fix. twice at the side of the road they replace the alternator in one. These guys did some real 4x4 that was killing some of the trucks that were on the same roads they took. If I wasn't so tall I would buy one to use a world touring bike if you like 45 k as a max speed. Both link show the mods they did to there bikes. :funmeteryes: Charge Of The Midgets pt.2_Cape York on 110cc - AusTouring.com BIKE PREP. ½àÈ÷¥Ð¥¤¥¯ÊÔ | Faster-Than-Walking |
