KLR with Caribou cases!
 

2004 Kawasaki KLR 650 - $2600

Guys, can you have a look at this bike?

I want to use it to drive to panama from LA, i have a 1990 model here at home and very satisfied with it. It will cost me 1800 euro or 2300 dollar.

Is that a good buy?

or will i find better KLR's when shopping in LA?


anyone has some experience with the caribou cases? witch size/liters would be best? 36L or 40L?

Just had Caribou luggage and would not recommend for overland work.
 

Pelican boxes are good (but heavy) but the racks have not stood up to the roads. My .02c worth of advice would be to pay the extra for Jesse Luggage bags. A few dollars more for a more reliable product and more storage while still being narrower.

But the Caribou bags were great for just pulling off the bike and taking into the hostels/hotels.

Sorry cannot help with the relative value of the KLR.

I kind of like the easy locking system to get the cases off, i want to take some expensive video material with me, so would be nice for that.

Are they realy that heavy? i heard they can crash better, is that true?

Not having any other info other than the pics, I would say fairly good deal! Tires and run through and you're good to go. Mileage? One owner? Clean title or salvage? Things are "hungry" in LA now. :thumbup1:
