Honda GB350 - an overland bike/ADV-bike?

I have watched several reviews and testrides of this bike and it strikes me that it would make a great overlander/ADV-bike within its limits of course…

Specs: https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-...a/gb350s/2025/

Its cheap, its economical - 100 mpg imperial if one takes it easy, has a 15 liter tank which would mean a range of above 500 k kms, it aircooled, has screw adjusted tappets - so valve clearance should be relatively easy, long stroke - so it wouldnt rev itself to death, its a Honda made in Japan - so it should be as reliable as a bike possibly gets.
Yeas it has «only» 19/17 wheels and limited ground clearance, maybe not the longest suspension travel out there but still….
Weight isnt too bad as of 178 kilos. Top speed is said to be 75-80 mph/120-130 km/h. A bash plate isnt readily available, but could probably be made.
Throw on some hand guards, a wind shield, some luggage racks and luggage of your option - and go! I am tempted - but only in my mind as for now….

Whats your thoughts guys and girls?

No bash plate, no wind protection, no panniers or back plate...

No real-world advantage over a CB500X for long-distance touring.

Awesome bike. I have looked at it myself and thought the same thing. Honda deserves praise for making it available here.
If you like the looks and the Honda-Made-in-Japan stamp, go for it. At this price you cannot go far wrong. The whole bike costs less than the price depreciation on a +1100cc BMW/KTM/etc in a year.

Put on some nice all terrain tires and it is a great touring bike that can tackle any backroad there is. Comfortable seating position. Engine that feels bigger than it is. The gear ratios are so good that you don't miss the sixth gear. Fuel tank gives relatively long range. Consumption makes small extra fuel canisters last longer. Centerstand makes it easy to fix flat tires. Auto cancelling turn indicators. Shorter riders can easily lower it few centimeters without sacrificing ride quality. Unstressed engine should last for a long time.

Although similar to the competition it is heavy for what it is (the centerstand adds few kilos). Non-adjustable suspension. Basic dash. Aircooled.
For not much more money you can get much more advanced bikes. At this price and size bracket there is stiff competition. Triumph, R.E., Mash, Kawasaki, Benelli, Rieju, Brixton, and many more.

I've read or watched several reviews, and it strikes me as a really appealing bike. I could see getting one... but Honda have decided not to bring the GB350 into North America.

Except almost half the price though…
