I,m planning a ride from Europe via to Bangkok this autumn/winter. I was thinking about driving my HD Fatboy 97. It probably a rare choice, but I would like to hear from others that either have rode HD in that region, or met someone that has. What challenges will I meet not driving a Honda, BMW, Suzuki or Yamaha?

Bottom line - you can do it on anything. It's just easier on some bikes in some areas than others. Peter says that one advantage of the Harley is that it isn't so far to the ground when you fall...

And you WILL fall. If you don't want to scratch it don't ride it. There will be bad roads, and it's going to look like it's been there.
