Best model year to buy a TEx, or S10?
 

My touring bike got totaled a week ago (due to vandalism!) and I am looking to replace it while winter sales are still on. I have it narrowed down to 3. the KTM 1290, Yamaha Super Tenere, and Triumph Explorer. I think the 1290 is out of my price range, so I am really looking hard at the S10, and the TEx. My price range puts me into the gently used, or leftover models.


I'm trying to figure out which year of each is the best to buy, and what the differences are between each years of the bikes. (I do know the 2016 history of the Explorer when they branched out into 6 sub-models but they are out of my price range) I'm researching as fast as I can, but figured it might be a time saver to simply ask.

So, anyone know the history offhand, or have bookmarked links that can help me? Thanks
