any new air-cooled bikes to buy before they disappear?

Just wonder, for adventure purposes they're superior IMO yet probably soon we won't see them available. SR400 comes to mind, I heard in Europe will be gone soon due to EU regulation. Anything else is left? I'd like to have one air-cooled bike in my garage.

If you are thinkng about an SR400 a Royal Enfield is due some consideration.

How about a Ducati Scrambler?

edit. I see they have also re-introduced the 800cc air-cooled engine in the new Monster 797 too.

W800 for sure. Probably on clearance from dealers and second hand there's always a few around. A great under-rated do-most-things roadster. In the long run likely to appreciate too.

I bought the W650 after bigger bikes (Falco 1000, Multistrada 1000 etc) and it has turned out to be a gem of a bike. Torquey, old school, reliable, fun. Economical to run too, cheap insurance, high 50's MPG.

I did UK to Finland late summer with soft panniers, tailpack, tankbag, rotopax. Looking at Finland - Morocco in May.

One warning about this bike. Every old fella will stop to talk about bikes. I've had dockers at Immingham & Gothenburg, old Swedes at gas stations, and bearded bears of Finns stop to chat awhile (about the 'Bonneville') :D

I can agree with that. Doesn't even have to be an "old" bike - just something with "Triumph" on the tank will do. The conversation that went with this encounter at a gas station in West Virginia was something like

"That a Triumph? Don't seem 'em much around here these days. Used to have a Bonneville way back. Great bike, went everywhere on it. Make 'em in Japan now don't they?"

Mash: An XBR made by one of the better Chinese builders for a French

On my possibles list for 2018-19 but I want ABS on and tested before I buy.

There are also rumours of the similar Anglo-Chinese Herald going 400cc
