Africa Twin - any good at all?
 

I found a site for Asian Africa Twins -
@Asia (@=AT=Africa Twin ..geddit?)

They did a poll that showed that if they were all to win the lottery,not ONE of them would buy another AT ...they preferred the big BMW GS !
Yet no-one on this site even mentions the GS ,confused?

Ref Africa Twin V BMW GS,the AT is a great bike,V smooth,V reliable,V comfortable & great for blasting around,I own a 97.however I am also lucky enough to also own a BMW 80 G/S,this bikes gets better the further you have to travel,great road manners,better balance then the AT,it has not got an earth shattering performance.But hey!it has got personality,the further you drive it the bigger its personality becomes,these bikes love there owners!.

You could take a BMW apart on the side of the road with a factory tool kit,could you do this with a AT?.for a long journey, for me its the BMW every time.

This might upset you Africa Twin owners having your bikes taking second place to a beemer,but hey!what about comparing second hand parts availability & prices!
