3aj vs dommi
 

Considering buying my first adventure bike, was previously looking at a dommi with a hens teeth big tank but now starting to have doubts and looking at a 3aj/3ds XT.

Probably never going to go round the world on it but hopefully get a few weeks in the alps, romania pyranese


Given that the dommi is likely to be ten years younger which would you choose.

my own personal experiance, I went with a 3aj, after an experiance of a much older "dommi", many years ago, she wore me out and then quit on me, the 3aj , however I could rebuild to suit, but the :funmeteryes: is not to be compared! :D

Don't dismiss a 1VJ
 

Can I put a vote in for the 1VJ Teneres that preceded the 3AJ? OK, so the motor is apparently slightly less reliable than the 3AJ, but there are plenty of them around, and they are definitely cheaper than 3AJs: I can't help myself and there are currently 3 in my garage....2 of them even work! With a few simple upgrades (eg 3AJ airbox, bigger footpegs, Renthal bars, small screen) you've got a cheap, simple, bullet proof, and IMHO totally cool go anywhere adventure bike. On second thoughts I should delete this post, and continiue buying them cheap til people catch on!

Also fix the 1VJ's suspect fifth gear and you are good to go.

The Dommie may be fine but they seem to wear piston rings and camshafts
