Visas-Iran 2 Pakistan 2 India

Can anyone advise as to the availability of visas for Pakistan (in Iran) and India (in Pakistan). We're in Africa and will in the next few months be travelling this route via Egypt, Jordan, Syria & Turkey. Any info would be appreciated.

Goose.

Hi Goose,

Wrote you an email with this adrress but would be useful for others too. This website is superb for finding an embassy in any country.

Hi Goose,

Just mailed you similar answer to below, thought others might want to know too. See you in Iran!

Just back from Iranian embassy in London. They were very helpful and indicated obtaining visa would be no problem, even if you have American visa in passport. According to their website it says you should reckon with 28 days to process application and they keep your passport for the period. I told them I need a confirmation from them that they have passport so German embassy (yes I wear Lederhosen) will give me temp one as I'm off to Spain in 10 days. They said, no problem we'll give you passport back after 2 days. Rang Magic Carpet in London 2 x, got answerphone both times, left message, no-one called back since 2 days. Rang Link to Persia (same setup), they want £140 all in (incl. visa fee) for what is basically same service as embassy (where visa fee is £36-£43)! Also told me I won't get visa unless I go through travel agency, which, going by the embassy, is rubbish. They did tell me they organise many visa's for Americans, even after Sep 11, which is good news if you are American

In any case you WILL need a Pakistani visa before obtaining Iranian one, and you WILL need an Indian one before obtaining the Pakistani.

Regards, George

hello,
in france, the iran embassy does not help, i have to do it with the official governmental travel agency AITO ITTO, they want 136 euros for 20 days, defined itineary, book hotels,
and they don't want to deliver me a visa if i go to pakistan after (so, i'll do it somewhere else than paris)
the lonely planet says it can be so easy or so hard, it depends on the embasies and nationalities, you can get a 5 to 10 days transit visa if you do not manage to have a 30 days tourist visa
at the pakistan embassy, your visa is valid 3 months before you enter the country and easy to get
india, i don't know yet

safe travels

Just got my Iranian Visa from the embassy in London which is a 30 day Tourist Visa (I hold a British passport).

The main things they were concerned with when I picked up the visa was that I had a Carnet de Passage and a drivers licence.

I went direct to the embassy without an agency

Good luck..
