From Turkey to Uzbekistan crossing Iran and Turkmenistan

Hi everyone.
This year we'll do again Barcelona - Ulaanbaatar, but now crossing Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrguistan.
I'm in touch with the old Hussein and some other iranian people but I have no information about how to cross Turkmenistan.
Some people told me that is possible to get a visa in Teheran.
Any tips or recommendations?
Thanks in advance

I was in Iran 2017 and have asked at the Turkmenistan embassy in Teheran about transit visa.

They told me it is minimum 2-3 weeks and not sure if we get it.

Friends of us applied on the same day and did not get it after 6 weeks.

I would try to ask for it in your homecountry and receive the visa with email and pick it up at the border.

Thank you very much Klausmong1.
I'm in touch with the same agency that handles the Mongolian visa but they have no response from Turkmenistan.
I was 2 times in Iran but only by plane, this the first by bike, but at the embassy and consulate here in Madrid they assure me there is no problem with big motorcycles.
If I don't find a safe way to enter Turkmenistan we will have to skirt the north of the Caspian

If you are on the way, try to apply in Turkey.

And if you get it, they mail it to you.

So you save time.

Also the ferry from Baku ( ALAT ) to Aktau works.
And is fun in a way :D

hahaha I know how that ferry works, a friend of mine embarked on it last month and had to wait 3 days, but he was lucky, because a couple who was there had been waiting for another 5 days.

I will continue trying to get the visa from Spain because the trip from Barcelona to Mongolia can have enough incidents, so plan B now becomes plan A :rolleyes2:

I also know how this ferry works, because I already used it.

And usually it runs every 1-2 days.
Except if there is heavy wind and water.

I'm also doing the same route but onwards to Tajikistan and I asked the Turkmenistan consulate in Frankfurt. They told me I can get a 5 days transit visa without invitation letter and it will be valid for 3 months from the issue date.
I suggest asking the nearest Turkmenistan consulate. It is very hard to get the visas when you are on the road and it will waste your precious time.
