Travel entrance (entry port) on Iranian visa appl. form.

Hi everybody,

I'm planning to enter in Iran via Sero (with my car) and I know It's better to not specify I'm travelling with my car.
And, on Key2Persia apllication form they ask me for "travel entrance".
If I specify Sero, it will be ok for the MFA (and Key2Persia)? They can think I'm entering with my car?
Or it's better to give Orumyeh or anytown else? what did you give as "travel entrance" if you travel with your car?

Thanks a lot for your advices.

RR.

You have a valid Carnet, or planning on getting an Temporary Import Permit at the border.

You can write anything you want and enter each of border crossing.
Don't worry.
I write all the time "public transport" and enter with my car on each boder.

Thanks Bartosz, I'll do the same way.
I have a valid carnet, it's more sure (but expensive).

If you have carnet enter small border. It is better and faster. They don't need "fuel tax" which is scam (maybe not 100% scam becouse they give you receipt but I didn't pay it on other borders).
People are more friendly there.
Bazargan is full of shit now but only border crossing if you don't have cpd.

Can you not get a "Temporary Import Permit" at the Bandar Abbas port?

Yes I got "temporary import permit in Bandar Abbas.
It toke 3 days.
Now I know Bandar Abbas well.

It took 3 days from arrival or just 3 days beforehand?

Bartosz 11 Jun 2015 21:47

It took 3 days from arrival.
People from transport companies (they do all papers) are friendly but only one of them knows what to do.
Thats why everything goes so slowly. They all the time running but iranian burocracy, customs, stiupid rules and few bad persons from custom do everything that you have to wait 2 to 3 days.
For example last year I was on Turkmen-Iranian border in Howdan. They did all papers in 6 hours (for 3 cars).

Thanks for the info I had no idea it would take that long, I was thinking a few hours to get the paperwork in order and then on the way. 3 days, that's horrendous.

I presume with a CDP it's just a standard crossing without the additional delay?

Be prepare that sometimes "normal procedure" takes more than 1 day.
They like to work only few hours a day. Start in 10 am, finish in 2 pm. They all the time talking about "christmas" and free days. So you can hit in this kind of troubles.
The fact is that people from admistration in Iran don't work. They only simulate work and do it few hours a day. They have time.
Better prepare for 2 days and be happy after few hours than opposite.
