Singapore info required

Hi all

Just had another idea whilst nursing my beer about our latest trip and it involves staying in Singapore for a while.

Has anyone on here lived/worked in Singapore? How was shipping your vehicle there? and from where did you ship? Rough daily costs such as fuel/bread/beer etc?

Thanks again

Becky

I lived in Singapore for 5 years and used it as base for exploring SE Asia by bike. The city itself is very bike friendly but also very expensive. Daily cost would by SG$ 20 for food - assuming you ate at the Hawker centers (which are great) - beers are about SG$5-7 each at these places. Accomodation runs from dorm style at $20 a day up to whatever you want. You can rent short-term serviced apartments which are useful if you want to relax for a week or more. Forget camping.

Check this site out for more info including about importing cars

In singapore to travel around the best is taking public transport like train or buses....coz on the road is quite jam and for the town area need to pay for the entry fees for your vehicle.....and somemore the parking is expensive like hell and also quite hard to find a parking lot...

Look PEACE, didnt mean to be rude....
but this site is all about TWO WHEELS adventure, remember:nono:
not some usual "tourist guide" site. :innocent:
For Malaysian, singapore is expensive but for europeans/americans traveller the $$$$ is not so bad! If you say the jam is bad. Then taking a bus wouldnt solve the problem but with a bike & some "auto pass" would sure be OKay & parking lot for bikes arent that difficult in Sin city!
Anyway I better stop here...

For me slicing through the traffic is an adventure too :D
GXdoyle got some good opinion & BM.Bec try ask Geof, he works in Sin!
