Shipping from Singapore to Darwin, travelling with the bikes

Hi all, I have heard that it is possible to cross from Singapore to Darwin Australia by sea and get a cabin on the same ship,
all our paperwork is in order so that should not be a problem, both bikes are UK registered and on carnets. We are currently in Malaysia and will be in Singapore in about a week
I really fancy doing it by sea instead of flying and meeting the bikes, any info greatfully appreciated, Pete n Brucella

Any answer on this one? I'm particularly interested... Planning on crossing Indonesia in June - that's a rough estimation - and ship from Timor to Darwin (and from Sydney to Vancouver, if anyone has information about that too...).
Cheers!

Unless it´s changed in the last few years, only Perkins run regular freight ships from Singapore to Dili and on to Darwin. Never heard of any cabins on those.

I do remember reading about someone, who did manage to travel with Perkins from Dili..... but I think he knew the right people either on board the ship, or in the company.

I'm not aware that Perkins go to Singapore, but we shipped with Bintang Mas uncrated.

Doesn't answer the original question either, I'm afraid. :offtopic:

Yep, according to Perkins Shipping Group Pty. Ltd., they still operate between Singapore & Darwin (via Dili).
