road condition

I've decided to ride a bike from the UK to Australia in a years time and I'm trying to plan a route.

Europe-Turkey-Iran-Pakistan-Nepal-India then ship to thailand then on to Indonesia and then ship to Australia.
Is the route tarmac all the way or as close to as possible ? if not what areas could pose a rethink on type of bike and wether to go 2 up or not.

I want to ride a large bike 2 up (africa twin/Transalp) and do not want to go off road due to the wieght I'll be carrying.

However I do not want to severely restrict my route due to road surfaces but I don't have that much time and so need to take an easy(ish) route.

ps any tips would be appreciated, it seems a mountain of work/cash before actually going

No problem, I even towed a trailer from India to Europe.

Which route

Im currently in india travelling with 2 guys on fully kitted BMWs for a rtw trip. They came thru turkey and iran and said that southern iran and sth pakistan was very hot 48 dgrees and boring just miles of sand, check the map and work out the distances travelled. IMHO after coming over the top thru Russia and central asia i would say that even with the visa reqiurement this is the best route and even thou the roads are tough at times it was so beautifull. camp anywhere and go where not many forigners have been. I met a couple of german bikers who summed it up nicely " this is not a holiday this is an adventure"
Honestly the red tape is not so bad and the border crossings slow but relativly strait forward.

I f i can help please email tntgoeast@hotmail.com
