Pakistan - China - Kyrgyzstan: August/Sept 2016, who's keen?

My partner and I are riding a couple of little Honda Posties around Asia and are looking to cross China from Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan around late August or early September 2016. Are there any people out there looking to cross around the same time? We are flexible with dates - currently in Nepal but planning to spend time in northern India and Pakistan before we head across. I've been in touch with a few companies. Cheapest seems to be Kashgar New Land International Travel and the more the merrier for the bank accounts and hopefully the trip too! Look forward to hearing from anyone keen

I've re-looked at our dates and am now thinking that early September may be a better time for us to cross. Also, I've heard that the weather starts to improve in September and there are better views of the mountains and less chance of landslides blocking road access etc. The total price would be shared between the final number of people going. I have been quoted the following in USD:
2 riders: $2,800
3 riders: $3,800 ($1,266 each)
4 riders: $4,600($1,150 each)
5 riders $5,600 ($1,120 each)
6 riders:$6,400 ($1,066 each)

This includes accomodation and is for 4 days - 3 days riding and one in Kashgar to get drivers license and number plate. So the price doesn't decrease that much with additional people - it's still very pricey.

Anyone keen?

I'm really keen to join if I can make it there in time, currently in Myanmar and was planning to do the crossing late September or early October. My understanding is the tour companies take about 2 months to get everything sorted. When were you going to start the application?

Hey Luke,

The tour company has told us they need a minimum of 40 days so we're hoping to get as many people on board as possible then confirm the trip about 10 days before we enter Pakistan (spend a month in Pakistan). We're currently in Nepal waiting on Indian visas which take about a week, then we'll slowly make our way through the Kashmir area toward Leh.
We loved Myanmar but tbh didn't find too many great places in eastern India aside from Darjeeling although we did have a bit of a time constraint then. Are you a fellow kiwi?
