After reading all the above responses....
I would have to say that Agonda Beach is one of the nicest places to chill in Goa. It's quiet, unlike Palolem which is only 7kms away.

Thanks everyone was all there advice - just what we needed at this tricky time.

SO, we ended up in Arambol - mainly cause it was the easiest to get too. Next choice was Agonda, but much further South.

We rocked up and had a search for our ideal place, but could only find some pretty average (but very cheap) beach huts. But after a few cold drinks we got speaking to a guy in a bar and he showed us an amazing beach front apartment with huge terrace overlooking the sea. Brilliant. 5GBP a night as well (for a months let). So we are now one happy couple :)

Jenny is feeling a let better now - and she has a full diagnosis ....
