Nepal - Current Situation?

Could anyone update me on what it's currently like in Nepal please? I know it was looking a bit rough prior to elections.
Many thanks.

Just drove through. Some roadcheck points, but got waved through when they saw my pale nordic face. Then some nights with curfew. No problems really. I wouldn't hesitate to go back today.

Thanks Erkis,
is there any way of telling from the ground whether it's getting better in the longer term or likely to get worse?

I just got through too, right behind Erik. As he said, its not a big problem for tourists at the moment. I would also have no problem going back, even under the current situation.

Hello David! Are you still in Nepal, or have you moved on?

Trev, it is not easy to predict what will happend in the long term. What we know is that the conflict - so far - has been an internal one, and none of the parties involve visitors like you and me. But of course, if the conflict escallates, you might wanna evaluate if you should drive through the battlefield or not. You know, there are bad-luck things such as being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

But as David agrees, the current situation seems fine for a visit.

Nepal

HI Trev,
I'm in Nepal at the moment and have had no trouble at all getting around. The people are friendly and it's a nice change from riding around India for three months. Riding is a lot safer here than India and the views are stunning (when the clouds clear. There has been the odd road block, but I ride to the front and get waved through.

Aidan
