Mystery disease in Nepal
 

Today I saw on CNN that a mystery disease killed 20 in Nepal and hundreds of people are ill. The people died in villages +/- 300 km west of Kathmandu.
According to officials on the CNN website, "People suddenly catch high fever, start shivering, faint and then die".

So if you are traveling in that area, take extra care.

A lot of places in India have chikungunya and dengue epidemics going on. So make sure that your anti mosquito weaponry is in good shape, and you have enough of it (easily available locally, though).

Official figures are totally unrealistic. The large majority of cases go unreported, as official cases have to be confirmed serologically.

Both these diseases are unlikely to kill you, but it will be the end of your holiday.
