Manipur - Imphal up-to-date situation
 

Hi there,

I was planning a trip from KTM to BKK in the next two months.

Seems like the NE-states in India are not doing very well, as we speak.

Anybody around with the latest news from the area?

We just rode from Dimapur to Imphal about 2 weeks ago (january 2017) and had no real problems. There is very little petrol available in Manipur so best to fill up in Nagaland, but we found a friendly petrol station owner who gave us full tanks anyway.

We did see a lot of military on the road but we were never stopped and questioned. Also did not see any rallies or protests. People were friendly.
