Iran - India (via Pakistan)

This country have had a some terrorists atacks and kidnappings of foreign nationals last 36 months.
There are some alerts, reports, etc.

Does know anyone the real situation in Pakistan just now, at the end of 2015/ beginning of year 2016/?
I mean: Is it realistic to cross Pakistan overland, just to arrive to India from Iran?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year 2016 from Canary Islands. (Africa)

We crossed in September from Iran via Taftan, visited the north met some amazing people stayed for 1 month and exited via Lahore.

We never felt unsafe and met some nice locals who showed us Pakistan. You will be escorted from Taftan, we were set free at Multan but others have had more escorts up to Lahore. It is annoying but the police are super friendly.

The scenery in the north is breathtaking and we had some of our best days up in Passu, check out some of our photos if you need some inspiration.

I am in Islamabad now which is safe everywhere and I am free to move around by myself. Lots of police with machine guns everywhere so I haven't seen any hint of trouble. You will be under 24 hour police escort from Taftan border with Iran up to Quetta, then down to Sukkur and up to Multan and part of the way to Lahore before you are free to continue on your own. Sometimes you will be travelling at 100 kmh and other times 30kmh. This part of the trip will take 4 or 5 days. The police and locals are all super friendly and the government absolutely wants to make sure all foreigners are 100 per cent safe so nothing to worry about.

Pheasant 56:

I have been seeing your very interesting website. Nice pics, good info, and looks beautiful trip. The map with the track it is specially usuful.
I aprreciate very much your help. It will helps me a lot, for sure.
I didn´t know it was possible to cross Birma. I have heard foreigners must pay a lot of taxes for it.
Is it true?

Happy New Year, wherever you are.

Muchas gracias.

Benmac: very good info too. I have leart in my trips the news about situation mostly times it is worst than in the real life. I guess being escorted all day, you had to sleep in the places police indicate you, Isn´t?

Muchas gracias and Happy New Year 2016 too.

If you have time, you can check my website as well, a trip I did 4 years ago, around the world.

Thanks fo the info. How do they escort? With a separate vehicle or on your bike? I am also planning to ride from Turkey to India via Iran and Pakistan. Since I have a solo seat it would be a problem if I have to get them on my bike.
