Getting from SE-A to South America on a tight budget?
 

Dear adventurers,

At the moment we are in Indonesia trying to find a budget way to get to Chile or Argentina in November/December.

Unfortunately the cheapest airfares (departing from Singapore, Bali, Hong Kong or Sydney to Santiago) we could find are in the range of USD 2000.- one-way! :funmeterno:

We would appreciate any hint on how to arrange tickets cheaper.
Were to look, how to book, budget departing airports or destinations or in which time frames tickets are expected to be cheapest.

You just pointed out another challenge - cheap bikes.
How much should we budget for the motorbikes?

Our search so far didn't lead to any cheap bikes in Chile.
Where would you look for bikes?
And where did you find flights for way less, as you said.
