Driving through Bangladesh
 

Does anyone have experience or knowledge of driving into Bangladesh from India. Will be heading from SE Asia through Burma to India and on to Nepal, and would like to go in and see Bangladesh. Will this be possible. Can things be handled on border, or do you need a visa ahead of time?

Hi, I'm doing the same route but in reverse, currently in India and wanting to go through Bangladesh. Did you manage to get the bike in and if so any information would be much appreciated.

I drove in in 2008 with a 4x4. You need a visa before you enter (like most countries), but it was easy to get in Calcutta.

I entered with a carnet, though I recently heard that Bangladesh stopped recognising them. What that means for taking a vehicle in, I don't know. I assume it is still possible, as it is in just about every other country.

Hopefully someone can chip in with more recent experience :)
