Crossing from India to Pakistan

Greetings and salutations fellow riders.
I am planning on crossing from India to Pakistan (and then to Europe) next year on an Indian registered motorbike.
Assuming I have the correct paperwork (carnet, NOC etc) are there any known restrictions on taking an Indian bike into Pakistan?
I have seen posts indicating it is not possible but I would like to know of any recent experiences.

I was coming out of Pakistan at Wagah border recently and a German couple on an Enfield Himalayan, purchased new in India, were just entering at the same time. They had obviously cleared all the Indian requirements so its indeed possible.

You would need the bike ownership documents in YOUR name. And that is not easy to get if your not an indian or have recidency in India.

The dutch woman Noraly aka «Itchy Boots» (look her up on Youtube) bought an RE Himalayan and took it out of India - so it is possible one way or another. She did however not take it through Pakistan.

Crossing into Pakistan with enfield

Hello Friend :) Yes its possible as I helped a couple from France entered from India to Pakistan on Enfield but it was registered in Nepal. I think so it you have proper complete documents, they will let you in.
its my dream to have one enfield but as Pakistani we can't import one from India. I'm from Lahore and will love to meet you for tea.
Best wishes

Inclined to agree with Hamzasha, I've done this run on a Nepal bike, but I've never heard of anyone doing it on an Indian bike. Quite apart from anything else (like the 2 countries being in a permanent state of high military alert) would be the cost of the CDP. Only the Indian AA can issue CDP for Indian bikes and FIA rules state that a deposit of 500% is required for CDP to enter Pak and Iran, given that a new RE Himalayan costs around 2 lakh Rps or EU 2,500, that would be a deposit of EU 12,500, which could only be reclaimed if the bike was returned to India within the 12 mnth validity of the CDP ( and good luck ever seeing that again). I would wait and see if you can find someone who's actually done it themselves, rather than rely on 2nd hand accounts. Or buy a Nepal bike, which you can definitely do this with.

But as far as I know she could not get this specific bike registered in the Netherlands , and she got a new one from the local dealer.

True - but afaik it was because of that the indian Himalayan model has other specs and thus didnt comply with european requirement regulations.

indeed, she could not register the bike in Holland, nor did she return the bike to India, so she lost the cost of the CDP $1400 + plus the deposit. that's a lot of money for a bike you can't use !

I didnt think about that, the CDP thing. But youre probably correct that she either found a way around it or that she lost a good bit of money by that....

Her Motorcycle was at the recent Brussels Motorcycle Show so that means she is sponsored by RE or at least a new bike from RE.
