calor gas in Iran & Pakistan
 

Apologies for such a silly question. We're going through Iran & Pakistan with a gas stove, and somebody who should probably know better tells me you cant get gas refills in these two countries. I find this hard to believe, can anyone confirm or deny?

What sort of gas stove? Getting refills for Coleman etc will be tricky.

We havent bought one yet, so it could be any. We prefer gas to petrol stoves though.

Hi, you wont be able to get Calor gas bottles over there - the Calor brand is only available in the UK - (correct me if im wrong someone) - They are to a European standard and over engineered and too expensive !
But you will be able to buy a local bottle and regulator from most Souks, just ask the locals - lots of people cook using butane/propane.
Then swop the bottle one for one afterwards - may be different setup again the further you go East - if you want to use gas then be prepared for some running about chasing after it and the regulators - its all good fun though !
