I left a couple of bikes there at an hotel in thamel and would like to know if they are still being stored as promissed. Contact me through my email address in the profile and quote 'horizons' in subject.
Thanks in advance

So I picked up the bikes after leaving them for a year. No problem, they were still exactly as I left them, not moved or touched. I can therefore recomend the "Hotel Encounter Nepal" for storage. It cost me $10 a month for two bikes. Whilst finding a place to leave the bikes wasn't difficult, some people offering a place for free, this hotel offered the use of a downstairs room. Nothing but dust fell on the bikes.
The hotel is 5 minutes walk north of thamel centre, has a large yard and is in the $10 a night range.
So if anyone needs a place to leave their bikes then these people seem ok.
Hope this info is usefull to someone.
Andy

And a very merry christmass to all you people out there. Ride safe and enjoy the planet.

Hi Butch
First of all thanks for trying to get info out of Jerryfromchina. I was hoping, and still am, that he can offer what he promises, but no replys to your questions...
Try these people for info... http://www.himalayanoffroad.com/
I went to thier offices a few times to discuss a Tibet ride. Very helpfull and certainly experienced as they provided the bikes and support for the recent ride up mount everest record. I am probably going to use these people to get a guide and arrange the border deposits for riding in Tibet later this year.
Like you said there seem to be hundreds offering services but at least these gentlemen I have met in person.

Andy
