Any recommended places to stay in Nepal?
 

I will soon be entering Nepal starting with a visit to Pokhara before moving on to Kathmandu and was wondering if anyone can recommend places to stay that are popular with other travellers? I am talking about guesthouses and hotels rather than campsites as I don't have camping equipment.

The family driven Little tibetan guesthouse in Pokhara lakeside is a 100% safe, cheap and clean place. I know the family very well. When you are on Hallan Chowk face direction town and about 150m on your right hand a green gate. Maybe a massive dog of about 20cm high will bark, but friendly as well. The Boss is a lady called Dawa and when you go over there, please say hello from me,

We have stayed at the Hotel Orchid on the two or three occasions we've been in Pokhara. It was entirely adequate accommodation for the price, with off-road secure parking - for a bike or any other type of vehicle, if that's what you need. Not the cheapest lodgings in Pokhara, but far from expensive.

Mind you, that was 4-5 years ago, so things might have changed - for better or worse - during the interim period. Having said that, according to contemporary Tripadvisor reviews, the place is still all good.

Not lakeside, but within easy strolling distance of Phewa Lake (Phewa Tal).

Pokhara is a fab destination, with plenty to do and see (.. why not try paragliding while you're there?! :thumbup1:)

There are lots of hotels and backpackers hostels both in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Most of these hostels are good, clean and provide rooms under budget.
Even you may check their online reviews as well.
