An American riding in Iran?
 

Hi All, I bought a GS in Ireland and have ridden across France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and Hungary into Romania,
Yes, Transfagarashan is awesome, but I think Transalpina is even better!

I am heading through Bulgaria into Turkey where I intend to ride along the Black Sea, then down to Mount Ararat.
I am hoping to cross Northern Iran to enter Azerbaijan and ride along the Caspian in Russia.
Apparently USA/UK/Canada citizens can get Visas but they need to be accompanied by an authorized guide during the entire stay in Iran.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for the best way to travel within Iran on my own bike, with the least amount of supervision?

Legally no...also carnet needed...
travellers with vehicles make hopa sarp gate of turkey to enter georgia and then batumi to tbilisi to enter azerbaijan..
this is also the main route for passenger busses running between istanbul turkey and bakı azerbaijan.
Attention,already started snowing in the area.snow and ice said hello very early this year.
