The Mitchell Family - Australia to the UK
 

Hi there,

We are the Andrew and Susi and our children Isabel (8) and Jack (7). We are from Australia and are travelling in our Defender to the UK. We shipped to Malaysia and are now in India, having been through Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, North East India, Nepal and then coming back into India about a week ago. From here we plan to head through Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and then spend some time in Europe before arriving in the UK in September.

Would it be possible to get some advice from members? We have just been told that we require a guide in Iran. It is the first I have heard that Australians require. Does anyone have some recent experience with this?

Unfortunately that seems to be true. According to my specialized visa Service in Berlin, all "western" travelers now Need expensive "guide" service if they are taking their vehicle through Iran. He could only speculated that it was due to a political tit-for-tat for recent Actions of the West against Iran.
