Newbie from the North of England
 

Hello everyone, Paul here from Cumbria, I have been something of a lurker for a while only registering fairly recently, so I thought it only polite to introduce myself.

Getting excited now and in the planning stages of a trip.
Slightly early retirement at 63 at the end of August and hoping to fly to Australia to see some friends then buy a bike and do some touring. New Zealand looks very inviting too. Away for 3 maybe 6 months, not sure yet.

It was going to be USA and Route 66 but we think that can wait, we hope.
All this assuming Covid allows!

We, June my wife, and I have a R1200GSA which we have used on a number of European holidays previously but it seems easier to buy a bike and sell it again then transport it there.

I love looking through all the info' on the site and would like to thank everyone who has contributed, it is fantastic.

Any and all advice gratefully received.
