s'cuse my ignorance chaps .. but have I got this right? (after some Google research)

'Bootie'

British slang
a Royal Marine

Word origin: from 'bootneck', so called from the leather tab used to close their tunic collars.

'Sandpit'

Military slang for the Middle East, especially those nations with sandy deserts, e.g. Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc.

just wondering? :helpsmilie:

cheers. Keith

Looks good in the gold. Yes the message was for you, Andi is a Kiwi and would be a great source of infomation for your trip

Awesome, thanks mate, I actually emigrated to Kiwi in '93 after I left the corps, but working in oil and gas has had me travelling around, Im really looking forward to a month back next year, as I get closer I will start posting and seeing who is around to catch up with, mainly be a South Island ride, after that when I get back to Dubai I might buy a F800 because I have a bit of a target to do some longer rides in the future...at the moment Im just planning and dreaming

Lonerider 22 Aug 2018 05:04

You're welcome mate, I am doing PMC for oil and gas at the moment, Basra,
If you ever get to Thailand in the future and fancy a pint let me know and if I am on leave then we can sort it.
I am also starting to build at the end of the year near Chum Phae and hopefully my house wil be done for about this time next year so you'll be welcome

Go steady
Wayne
