New traveller, UK based
 

Morning,
Just like to say Hi, been travelling all over Europe for years but looking to go further afield. I've been reading HU for years but didn't get round to doing something about it.

What I plan doing is traveling whilst working. I work in IT and can work remotely, so maybe travel for 2 weeks then work for 4 weeks somewhere interesting - I work full time for a UK company so some leave will be unpaid, but I should have enough money if I stay away from mainland EU and USA. Planning on staying in Air bnb or cheap hotels/hostels.

I plan filming my travels, I realised last year I've not got any footage worth showing to anybody from years of travel, just clips and photos of here and there. So I'll be putting it on youtube so you can all share in the boredom and hassles I have ! :laugh:

Filming, especially when you are alone, is a LOT of work and a lot of detraction from enjoying your travels. And if you are not already an accomplished filmmaker, chances are that pretty much nobody will care about your helmet cam videos.

Just enjoy the trip for your own sake. Take photos for your own memories.

Thanks, I appreciate that but if I didn't do something because it might spoil the experience, I'd never do anything new.

I realised a few years ago that I'd been to many countries and most in Europe, but I'd not got any record of much of the visits because I didn't manage the photos and what little video I had. I've got loads of random photos and snippets of video here and there but nothing I can look back on in 20 years and enjoy watching and with GoPros being so good now, it's an opportunity not to be missed.

It's the editing that will be hard ! :)
