hi all from the land of rain known as England got a thousand questions to ask planning a world trip soon bike unknown atm been on bikes 40 odd years rode across Vietnam last year on Honda 110 and done most of Europe at some time in the stable is a Harley a ccm and a gas gas trying to find a bike I can mend on the roadside atm why are these new bikes full of gizmos that you don't want,

Hi Neil , welcome to the hubb from another new starter from the same sunny isle. I have never done any long distance stuff , it's not really my thing but I love reading and hearing about other people's adventures. Obviously I am no expert on what to use or what you might prefer but I would go single cylinder ,air cooled like, XT , DR or possibly l/c versions as long as you can get water in case of damage which gives you more choice or even a royal Enfield , yep , people use them as well.A good bloke to try and speak to is Dave Lambeth , overland and rally type expert, just google him .
