My first post -My first trip solo - Péru

Hello to this great community

I met some of you in the French HU event this summer and now it is time to act: my next trip will be in Péru mid march and it will be the first time I travel alone, on a bike, far from home....better late than never ;-)

I already did solo+ far, solo+bike, bike+far....but never solo+bike+far ;-) this is the beauty of retierement!!!

I obviously have tons of questions to ask even if I have tried to read a lot of the existing posts. You may see my name in several posts those days...I will try to post them at the right place but please excuse me in advance if I make mistakes.

If you schedule to be in Péru march/April 2024 or if you are living in Peru and would like me to offer you a beer let me know ....

Have been travelling Peru recently (last year)
But instead of wrting a book.
I wait for specific questions on SA heading.

You say far But nothing about remote or main route.
Gringo Trail is a completely different world compare the the mountains and the jungle

Read the topics under SA. Before asking. You might find many answers
Write about your plans and questions.
And we can share some experiences

Have a great trip

Thanks for your answer,

I plan to post specific questions in the SA section and an idea of the route

As we speak I am drafting it, which will obviously change once there ;-) more to see where to concentrate as I don't want to spend 8h on the bike every day but keep time for just enjoying the place and the people.

I will not do off road alone, and stay on paved or "good" gravel as my level dictate me. More in the mountains than the coast with also some touristic places....ie I don't feel going to Perù and not seeing Machu Pichu ;-). Some incursion to "la selva" but 7 weeks is short for such a big country !

So far I have driven in Asia (Bhutan, Nepal/Mustang, Ladakh/Zanskar) and Europe but never in South America
