I am happy to be here
Hello to everybody,
I just was surfin in the internet and was hoping to find a satisfiying answer to the problem i have on my 2006 Suzuki DL 650:( I found HU by accident but I'am verry happy to have & to be here:thumbup1: i read many Threads and comments! briefly said, absolutely good. Let my introduce myselves to you. My Name is Ozer,I am living in Turkey,46 years old, married have a boy 20 and girl 14 both students. My hobbys are: motorcyling, diving,MTB biking, air gun shooting and finally i am an licensed Amateur Radio Operator. bruceontheloose wrote about he's problem with he's DL650! 3 weeks ago.I have a simmilar maybe the same problem with mine! Starting is perfect and cruising for hours without any problems but as soon i go down with the speed the motor noice changes and if i stop the engine cuts of to! starting soon is only possible if i pull the throtle...starting normal is not possible since the engine can not run at regular rpm of 1100rpm! after 2-3 minutes i can start again without problems.Sometimes i ride 150-200km with out any problem but as soon i reduce the speed problem occures again! last time there was an indication FI what does this mean and what do i have to do to solve this matter? Thanks in advance for your kind recommendations. |

V Strom DL 650 is very popular in Turkey and i think i am the only one who has this problem! some friends have allready 85000km's and not one problem during all the time. I Love my bike and i am happy allround. With a total weight of aprox 400kg's it runs more than 430km of distance with one tank.... DL 650 is absolutely a good bike:thumbup1: |

It is a fine line trying to balance reliabilty versus survivability. What is the best tube brand ? |

I am riding since i'm 16 (startet with a 50cc machine) and have used lots of different type of motocyles......Triumph is old England and those are really good machines! pitty that you've faced this kind of problems and stopt the tour... Sometimes i am thinking also about that what you said...It is a fine line trying to balance reliabilty versus survivability. Today we are profitting of the high tech product we can affort!i think carburator and mechanical system is sometimes much better than eletronics and fuel injection for example!but things concerning tyres and tubes is different....I prefer Tubeless sins it is much easir to repair or replace! Rhino Tire - home has developed something like slime which prevents a flat tyre during you ride! you even do not feel that you have a nail puncture in your tyre....there are lots of companies offering those products. It is hard to say what tyre is the best! it depends on where you want to ride more! Road / Offroad / Trial etc.. my bike is weard with Metzeler Tourance and i am very happy with this tyres:thumbup1: check out... Cheers... |
I am usinga tube because the front tyre wont seal on the bead reliably (it might hold air for weeks then go down) So when i fitted a new tyre ( metzler which is great for handling, better then teh previous avon) I installed anew tube. Problem is the bead area is not entirely smooth possibly from either corrosion or just naturally porous. Twice since I started motoring I have had a vehicle with alloy wheels, and both were unreliable. Never had a problem with tubes , or tubless on steel rims.
