Hi Guys & Gals.

Hi All, :thumbup1:

I'm new to the HUBB, but have been a supporter of Horizons Unlimited & a regular at the UK Meet for a couple of years now.
Finally I've found time to get on the HUBB. Any bodies finding themselves in the UK in need of help or advice I'll do my best to help, fairly knowledgeable about Europe and 1200GS's too.

Only able to do European runs at the moment, having recently set up my own business, so hopefully in a couple of years it can run its self and I can ride off in to the sunset.:mchappy:

Cheers

1200GS brakes

Hi Stu,

Thanks for the offer of help re 1200GSs. I also am fairly new to the HUBB, and have been a supporter of Horizons Unlimited & a regular at the UK Meet. Just trying to plan the next trip right now..maybe Africa or maybe Russia...and I was just logging on to see if anyone knew anything about bypassing the brakes on the 1200GS...so it was a touch of serendipity to see your post!!

Do you (or anyone) know if it's possible to route the brake master cylinders directly to the calipers..in order to bypass the unreliable electronic stuff? Any help appreciated!

Dan. (Surrey)

Hi Dan,

There has been talk of this on the UKGS'r forum and some on www.r1200.info , I've not had a problem with my servo brakes and I really like mine, they have been 100% reliable on and off-road (and I'm talking proper off-road not just a dusty loose track.)

Sorry but I haven't looked into bypassing them, good luck with your search.
