Hellooooooooo New and hopefully finally going somewhere, oh and a first question

Hi all,

I am Fred, from Belgium, been lurking at the Hubb for a while.

Preparing to leave the rainy country on a trip to Mongolia next year with my buddy.

I currently ride a Ducati Monster (love), highly tempted to take that one on the trip ^^ (will keep you posted if that silly idea persists)

Then again, I bought an Aprilia Caponord 2003 for this trip BUT am not convinced at all.

Been riding it for a few month and have to admit she's a heavy load, and already had a "small" problem, one of the injectors' small rubber seal broke and I lost a full tank leaking on the highway (while riding) we only noticed it at the exit (yep ... :innocent:), cut the engine right off and tried to repair on the side.

Ended up calling a friend and his trailer.

Ok now repaired, but the incident got me thinking about the complexity of this machine + I think she does not like me.

SO I now have the opportunity to trade the Capo for TWO Yams 600 XT, respectively from 83 and 86 with 20000 km on the meter.

Would like to know what others may think of that ? Trade or keep ?

Thanks !

Welcome to HUBB.

I'm not an expert, so I'll answer with questions: why do you want to trade the Caponord for 2 bikes, 1 XT for your friend and 1 for you? If not the case, why don't you get a newer bike/XT with electric starter? You can later adapt a kick, but the starter will still make a big difference.

I've got an XT (e + kick), so don't want to be biassed, but "bulletproof" and "aprillia caponord" are terms I haven't seen together at least as often as it happens with "XT".

Hello again,

thanks for the info, I'll be looking into newer xt, a friend of mine as a 660 xtz for sale, I am waiting to test it ;) And the Capo goes for sale.
