Hi all,
Finally decided to join the forum after lurking for a while.
Only got into bikes in the last 2 or 3 years (mid-life crisis must be kicking in...), can't believe I didn't do it years ago.
I ride a Suzuki Burgman 400, & absolutely love it, it feels so comfortable to ride.
Went to my first Horizons meeting in Ripley this year (pic below), & was greatly inspired by all the amazing travel stories I heard there.

Did my first mini-trip a few weeks ago - had a week spare so just put a tent on the back & got on the eurotunnel. Had a nice ride through France / Netherlands / Belgium / Luxembourg, was amazed to meet other friendly bikers at every campsite I stayed at.
Looking forward to my next bike trip, possibly riding to Barcelona in September. Meeting some friends for a weekend there, & thought it might be more fun to ride there than fly...

Welcome

Most of the time, that´s the way you start. First a neighbouring country then a few more countries and soon you feel like packing for RTW trip. Welcome to the nonstop world of worldwide bikers.

I would highly recommend riding to Spain. In 2009 we ferried to Santander, rode the north and west coast down to Lisbon, back up through the centre of Spain and over the Pyrenees - fantastic! The spanish are wonderful, really friendly even in very rural parts, great roads and delicious cheap food. Don't miss out on the opportunity. Good Luck!

Hi

Welcome Johnonabike (I presume that your name must be John !).

The Bergman is a comfortable ride and you won't be alone riding it around Europe - seems to be a popular bike in France, Italy & Spain
