Hello from The Dandenongs, Vic, Australia :)

Thought I should post here and introduce myself. Have been reading through some threads with interest about people's plans and adventures and feeling inspired!

I live in the Dandenongs in Victoria Australia. I got my motorbike learners with my husband a couple of years ago. Since then have become quite addicted to riding, so much fun! Started out on a Honda CB400 and got off my licence restrictions last December and upgraded to a Triumph Tiger 800, which I love!!

Hoping to ride the East Coast of Australia early next year, and with any luck ride around the UK mid year too. When I finish at University in a couple of years the big dream is to take at least a year off and explore the world on the back of a motorbike.

Looking forward to getting know fellow travelers on the HUBB and maybe even running into some of you out there on the road!

Cheers :mchappy:

Hello fellow (female) Victorian :)
See you on the road sometime I hope!
I'm taking my year-on-a-bike in 2014.
Would be keen to hear about your East Coast plans.

Cheers
Nicola

Come for a ride in Brissie and when you do the QLD coast make sure you check out Girraween national park on your way. Welcome to the HUBB!

Hi Nicola and JetJackson,

Thanks for thw welcome. Hope to see you both on the road sometime! :mchappy:

So far the east coast trip is just a series of map stickers on the huge poster of Australia on the wall! Am still waiting to see when hubby can get the time off work. I don't think I will do too much planning, more a case of get up, hop on, ride, see where it takes us. Will have a look at this Girraween NP, happy to accept advice from locals :thumbup1:

No sweat, there are a whole lot of vineyards near Girraween, and you can camp there but you need to book online, and if it is a busy time of year, about a week in advance. They make pretty decent white wine but are not as great on the reds. You can check out a vineyard, grab a bottle of wine and then head the short ride down the road to Girraween, camp there for the night, climb up pyramid rock (although my suggestion would be not to do this with an alcohol in the system) and watch the sunrise/sunset. One of my favourite things to do in SE QLD.
