Hi Marty,

Welcome. I have the '99 SE model. It's fast approaching 180000km.

Have fun,
Peter.

SERIOUSLY? Damn! mine has 14,000 miles, uses oil ( no leaks ) and last week I had to use CAR ENGINE OIL as i was 20 miles from nowhere and needed it. now the clutch slips.......:oops2:

:welcome:Welcome Marty! Was that a semi synthetic car oil you used that caused the clutch to slip? I have never had problems using 'car' 20/50 oil in my bikes, but then I may not ride as fast as you! :wink3:

I have often used car oil, as in many places I have travelled through that is all that is available. My clutch plates are still original and the engine uses very little oil. That's the advantage of the SE: it's all round better. Reading in the relevant forums I gather that most riders of the older models have to rebuild their engines at 50-80k... :mchappy:

Cheers,
Peter.
