Coast to coast in OZ in 2017
 

I am planning an expedition in Australia in 2017 to follow in the footsteps of our early explorers, Burke and Wills, Ernest Giles, Charles Sturt and Ludwig Leichhardt. I am planning to spend three months away and would like another adv biker for company, and for safety.

I will be tracing the steps of these explorers through the most remote regions of Australia, and fortunately, today, its much safer than even a few decades ago. I am based in Sydney and plan to start in the May 2017 timeframe.

All sorts of surfaces will be traveled on from bitumen to gravel to sand, so a bike that is capable on these would be necessary. Personally, I will be traveling with a lighter bike as trying to negotiate 100' desert sand hills would make a heavy bike a liability. An Enduro bike with adventure gear would be ideal.
