Mac OS emojis

I've written a couple of posts recently where I've used an emoji from Mac Safari rather than those on the HU list. Each time when I've subsequently pressed post not only does the emoji not appear but any text I've written after it doesn't appear either. No problem if I use the HU emojis, it only happens when I use the Mac OS ones. (cmd, ctrl, space to bring up the list). No big deal but sometimes you go the OS list on autopilot and then lose a chunk of what you've written.

phpBB handles smilies differently to current generation stuff, the system references gifs that are stored on the server rather than having a reader that recognises codes for emojis ... I think there is an emoji system that can be patched into it, but that's probably a bunch of faff :innocent:

(I don't know what system Grant uses here though :P but I'm guessing it's similar)

Turbofurball is on the right track - we use vBulletin, which has NO capability of recognizing "foreign" emoji's.
It's interesting that following text is missing too - try pressing the a/A button top right of the edit box and above the emoji's, to get the "code" view. Your text might still be there, but the foreign code is messing up the html.
Sorry there's nothing more I can do. :(
